Chapter Twelve: Epilogue . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Page 3

After this is taken care of, you realize how very tired you are. It feels like hours since you awoke, whether the clock agrees or not. You let the griffin and leowing outside to explore, then slowly walk
upstairs….

You wake up. What a dream. Yet it seems so vivid, and you remember it so much better than most dreams. Perhaps it could have been real…

You shake your head. This is ridiculous. Another world; some fairy princess who could age and reverse age, even travel through time; eagle lions and winged lions who could talk mind-to-mind; stones that turn to maps and back again… these simply aren’t part of the real world.

You hear your name. Your little sister is running up the stairs, calling for you. You look at the clock; you must have been tired last night, you rarely sleep in so late.

You call back to your sister; after breakfast, would she like to hear a fairy tale? She’s really excited; she’s already eaten, she says, but she’ll wait for you. She loves to hear your stories.

As you go outside to tell her the story you have dreamed, you see something really odd. You family has not had pet cats for years but, if you didn’t know any better, you would say that there is a large cat-footprint in your family’s backyard.
