Fog :: Story Destination

It was early in the morning of a beautiful spring day. Mary and Marcus were excited. They were going to spend the day at the lake. They planned to build sand castles, watch the birds, and splash in the shallow water at the edge of the lake.

“May we go get in the car now?” asked Mary. “I want to leave for the lake.”

“Okay,” replied her father as he carried a big pile of things to the car.

“I’m hungry,” complained Marcus. “Why can’t we eat before we go?”

“Because we wanted to eat breakfast while we watched the sun rise over the lake,” Mary reminded him.

“Then let’s go now.” Marcus demanded.

“Well,” said Mother, “I think we have everything. I think we can leave as soon as everyone is in the car.”
