Creae smiled, satisfied.  This would serve as a warning.  If ever Cal – Kyros – tried to manipulate another god, he would be banished, Forgotten himself.

“You now lead those who have been forgotten, both mortal and god.  May it teach you responsibility – and may it be a lesson to you.”  Creae strode off.

Kyros was not without authority, but he was practically powerless.  Whenever he gained ground reteaching mortals forgotten knowledge, the original god of that craft would reappear and take over the work.  Creae’s warning served its purpose; Kyros never troubled him again.  He never learned that Imal told Creae of his obsession with ruling the gods as retribution for the trouble his hackers caused her.
