The Ballad of Roselyn . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Page 2

When morning comes she gets back up

And as she’s flying high,

Down on the road she sees some folk,

Some strangers passing by.

 The men look up – What do they see?

A dragon large and wild

And terror grips them all, until

Their leader dismounts, riled.

“Don’t you fear, lads, just stay here;

I’ll go and sort this out.”

So saying, he turns dragon too,

Complete with wings and snout.

You changed so quick, can you change back?

Miss Rose roars out to him.

“Please, sir, if you won’t help me out,

My chance for change looks grim.”

“Why, yes, of course I’ll help you out,”

Her rescuer replies;

“Please land, I’ll tell you what to say.”

She hastily complies.

While traveling back to Rose’s home,

The two youths fall in love.

They meet her fam’ly, plight their troth

Their love’s blessed from above.
